Pakistan narrowly beat Bahrain in gruelling five sets/Sri Lanka outperform Oman

Tehran, Iran, August 6, 2015 – Pakistan struggled to beat Bahrain 3-2 (21-25, 25-20, 27-25, 15-25, 15-9) to next set up a clash for ninth place against Kazakhstan, as Bahrain are due to take on India in the 11th-12th playoff in the 18th Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship.

Pakistan’s captain, Naseer Ahmed: “It was a good match. We have lost our concentration in the first set. We got better little by little. Our team is physically exhausted which importantly affected our potential. We have to next fight against Kazakhstan. We will try our best to win the match.”

Bahrain’s coach, Jorge Elgueta: “My players learned a volleyball lesson. Except the first set, which we played quite well, the other sets were far from impressive. They lost because they did not follow the game plan.”
