Tehran, Iran, August 6, 2015 – Kazakhstan proved a cut above India to brush off the spirited rivals in dramatic four sets 25-15, 26-24, 30-32, 25-21.
Kazakhstan’s coach, Patrokov Andrey: “I hope the injury of our setter won’t cause a major problem to our team in our crucial match on Friday. I’m worried about our next match because one of my best players is suffering from wrist pain which can give us trouble. It was a tough game but it was our best performance so far in this tournament.
(About hosting of Iran) I appreciate the Iran’s hosting. It is just impressive. I have been travelling to Iran many times and we have always been served with the best. This time it was the best of all and the teams had no problems at all. Thanks so much.”
Kazakhstan’s captain, Alexander Stolnikov: “It was a difficult match. My teammates played really well and I would like to thank them for kind coop ration and coordination. We have a young team and most of our players are gaining exposure and experience in this tournament just for the first time. We can overcome the problems by gaining some experiences.
India’s coach, Venkatesan: “We weren’t good at all today. I can’t accuse my players on this because we had difficult games in these days and they are physically exhausted. Our best player was also injured and couldn’t help the team.”
