Tehran, Iran, August 4, 2015 – Chinese Taipei upset Thailand in straight set 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 to claim crucial three points in their last match of the last eight teams Pool E encounter in the 18th Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship on Tuesday.
Thailand’s coach, Monchai Supajirakul: “My players are very exhausted since we had to play five sets for several matches. This is a main reason why they got tired easily. Chinese Taipei performed a good volleyball and we could not keep up the pace with them.
Captain of Thailand, Kittikun Sri-Utthawong: “We were slow. The tournament is very intensive and we ran out of energy.”
Chinese Taipei’s coach, Ke-Chou Chen: “We finally successfully beat Thailand. We haven’t beaten them before. Thailand is a good team but we were better today to win the match. We have to try our best in the next match against our rival.”
Chinese Taipei’s captain, Chien-Chen Chen: “We were great today and will get better in more matches to come. Thailand was better in front of Korea but today they couldn’t make it to show the real power because they were exhausted.”
