Pakistan beat Kuwait in tie-breaker

Tehran, Iran, August 3, 2015 – Pakistan struggled hard to beat Kuwait in a hard-fought five-set thriller 25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 21-25, 15-10 in the 18th Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship on Monday.

Kuwait’s coach, Radovan Malevic: “We are here to practise and to get prepared for the future matches in order that we can learn from this tournament. I expected this result before. Our next match would be even easier. We focussed on the weak points in Oman and would try our best to win the match.

Kuwait’s captain, Abdullah Mansour: “I am very happy for the win. This is the first point we received from Pakistan. In the beginning, we lost the right track of the match. Gradually, we turned back to the match. I think the match against Oman would be even easier for us.

Pakistan’s coach, Hassan Mazhar: “My players shone through their self-confidence in the matches. This is why in the fifth set, they implanted what they have learnt before. Before the match, I predicted a different show-up from Kuwait. They came up in full force. Kazakhstan is one of our serious rivals. I think, we are going to have a spectacular match on Tuesday. “
